3Impossible to actually hold the gun properly.Jul 15, 2010
For the durability of my figure, it is pretty decent.
Legs are a bit loose but arms and hands are sturdy.
Based on my figure the right hand is impossible to put around the massive fuel rod cannon's handle.
I try gently prying the thumb open but the fingers have absolutely no give.
I try nudging from the other side of the handle and rotate but the stupid little finger guard is in the way.
The only way is to use the left hand which due to the angle will not rest on its shoulder.
The other only way is to carefully use the right hand to hold the stupid little finger guard instead of the handle.
Of course it's so wobbly and the left arm does not reach all the way to the other side to hold like the pictures.
Good for collector who wants to complete the halo collection.
Bad for general use.

4Adult collector's perspective.Apr 18, 2010
I was lucky enough to pick one of these up when Amazon marked them down to $4.99, so I bought 2; one for display one to keep in the package. In the package these both had great paint jobs and look very detailed. The Hayabusa looks great in green I think.

Upon opening, I found the joints to be a bit stiff and needed care when "breaking-in" the figure for poseability. If this were given to a child who is rough on there toys and cares little for the condition it won't last a day. The Mcfarlane Halo toys can be fragile, though I believe most kids over 9 would have no problem with these so long as they don't get rough.

The articualtion is great and the appearance is incredible. It looks like Hayabuse stepped out of my TV. The included weapon is big and bulky and takes some real effort to get the figure to hold it. It can be done, but you need some patience.

Overall this is a great figure for a collector. Though a bit fragile, they more than make up for it in appearance and Amazon's great customer service would likely help out with a replacement if you find a defective, flawed, or poorly assembled figure has been shipped to you.

I picked this up around Thanksgiving of last year when random things went dirt cheap for black friday. Unlike what other reviewers are claiming, mine was not incredibly loose out of the box, the joints are stiff enough to hold position and stand on it's own even while "holding" the Fuel Rod Cannon. The gun doesn't quite fit in his hands, but he can be made to hold it convincingly if you're willing to take more than a second. All in all, I'd say this was a good buy.

1Takes the "action" out of action figures...Mar 20, 2010
Honestly, this is a sad excuse for a "toy." Had it been marketed as merely a collectible figurine, for display only, ok, but this was all over the place on Amazon during the holidays, so I bought one as a gift for one of the younger Halo fans in my life. That was a mistake...within two days the arm had fallen off, and I do mean it just fell off. It wasn't mistreated, it wasn't thrown around, it was basically just posed and the fuel rod cannon moved a bit. It's a shame, because it looks quite cool (the Hayabusa armor being my favorite Spartan variety).

If you want a toy that will disappoint in just about every way once you open it, at least for those who would actually, you know, PLAY with a toy, then by all means, buy this (in fact, I gave it an extra star in educational value for helping to teach disappointment), otherwise, steer clear. McFarlane toys really needs to step-up its quality control, not that I've ever had a particularly high opinion of their products, but this is easily one of the worst (I guess Todd is too busy trying to be a prima donna and trying to cash-in on his 15 minutes of fame 15 years after the fact).

2Most fragile Spartan yetFeb 22, 2010
Of all the Halo Spartans made by McFarlane, this one was the most poorly made. Out of the box, the joints were all loose, making it hard to stand with a giant fuel rod gun. And more importantly, the arm popped out of the socket and couldn't be put back in. All the others in this series have been well made and solidly put together.
